The Tradition Continues

On Memorial Day Weekend the cemetery continues to honor the Veterans that have served our Country. The Cemetery's crew place small American flags on approximately 2,300 Veteran's grave sites. This has been a tradition at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery for more than 60 years. The crew takes pride in this tradition. Throughout the Cemetery grounds the roadways display large American Flags in our Avenue of flags.

We are always in need of 9 1/2' X 5' American Flags. Most of the flags have been donated by families of Veterans that are buried in the cemetery.

The Memorial Day Ceremony is conducted by the American Legion Post 53 & their Honor Guard in cooperation with the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery District. Boy scouts, Girl scouts and Cub Scout troops, along with many volunteers contribute to a wonderful program. The Friends of the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery District provides coffee and donuts.

Flag donations can be dropped off at the Cemetery office at 2555 Santa Fe , San Jacinto 92583 or donations to purchase flags may be made to the Friends of the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
